Discussion WHAT ARE THE POSSIBILITIES OF COMMUNITY ENERGY DEVELOPMENT IN THE SR?

Currently, the concept of community energy is developed in several EU member states. In Slovakia, a major amendment to the Energy and Regulatory Act of 2022, which for the first time defined new participants in the electricity market, opens the door to the development of energy communities.
In the secondary legislation, it will be followed up by the landmark ÚRSO decree on the rules for the functioning of the internal electricity market. The draft amendment, which should enter into force at the beginning of April, was the subject of a completed comment procedure and is currently being evaluated.
On April 3, 2023, members of the ENERGOKLUB® platform discussed the potential of community energy development in local conditions with Marián Parkányi, chairman of the Cluster of Energy Communities of Slovakia, and Peter Ludrovský, energy advisor of the Union of Slovak Cities. A representative of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, SIEA and the SAPI association also participated. The situation in the neighboring Czech Republic was presented by Tomáš Jagoš, head of the project working group from the Community Energy Union.
