“Open Node” – Results and Possibilities of Application in the Practice of Energy Networks
On the July 9-th 2014 took place a meeting with foreign experts from Atos Research and Innovation based in Spain. ARI is the IT research division of Atos and a prominent research project leader who can present more than 120 successful projects under the 7-th Framework Program as coordinator but also as a consortium partner. Many interesting projects are just in the field of energy. The aim of this meeting, entitled “Open Node” – results and possibilities of application in the practice of energy networks, was the presentation of the project focus of the International Centre of Excellence for Research of Intelligent and Secure Information and Communication-Technologies and Presentation of Research Activities of the Excellent Laboratory of Intelligent Networks at the Institute of Electrical Power and Applied Electrical Engineering at the FEI STU in Bratislava. Mr. Josema Cavanillas de San Seguno and Mr. Andrea Rossi of Atos Research and Innovation presented the results and benefits of the 7-th Framework Program European research project “Open Node – A Smart Secondary Substation Node and its Integration in a Distribution Grid in the Future “. Participated in the event except for solvers of project and foreign of experts representatives of various major energy companies and representatives of the state authorities of the Slovak Republic. The options was discussed of applying the results of the Open Node project and possible foreign cooperation in the field of research and applications of smart grids as well as possibilities of further research following the project of the International Centre of Excellence for Research of Intelligent and Secure Information – Communication Technologies and Systems.
