World congress on engineering and computer science

Due to support of the ITMS 26240120039 project the PhD student from the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava Peter Laurinec could attend the World Congress on Engineering and Computer Science in San Francisco from October 19th to 22nd 2016. The research paper titled

Comparison of Representations of Time Series for Clustering Smart Meter Data

was presented as a part of the International Conference on Machine Learning and Data Analysis (ICMLDA). The paper focused on creation of suitable smart metering time series representations for time series’ clustering. The results are applicable in identification of similar consumers. They can also contribute to more precise power load forecasts, since the power load forecast of a group of similar consumers is more straightforward.
